Changes Ahead

If you’ve been following the news, you may have seen recent headlines about Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan reporting major financial losses and laying off hundreds of employees. [Detroit News: Blue Cross axing hundreds of jobs in Michigan] [Detroit News: Blue Cross posts $1.7 billion loss]

While these articles don’t mention Medicare Advantage specifically, the writing is on the wall: plans will look very different in 2026. Deductibles, copays, and maximum out-of-pocket costs are expected to climb. Some plans may even leave the market altogether.

What This Means for You

  • Expect Change. Even if you’ve been satisfied with your current Blue Cross plan, it’s unlikely 2026 will look the same.

  • Reviews Are Essential. The only way to ensure you’re in the right plan is to review all your options with a licensed Medicare broker.

  • Timing Matters. The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs from October 15 to December 7. Appointments will fill quickly, so be ready to schedule early.

How I Can Help

As a local, face-to-face Medicare broker here in Mid Michigan, I keep a close eye on industry trends so you don’t have to. My role is to:

✅ Review all available 2026 plan options (not just Blue Cross).
✅ Match your doctors and prescriptions to the right coverage.
✅ Make sure you’re positioned with a plan that works for your health and budget.

Before our review, you’ll complete a quick online form through RetireFlo to confirm your providers and prescriptions. This form also includes the Scope of Appointment (SOA) — a required step before we can meet.

Next Steps

  1. Watch for my emails and texts in the coming weeks with your scheduling link.

  2. Be ready to book your plan review early.

  3. Fill out the RetireFlo form completely when you receive it — even if nothing has changed.

2026 is shaping up to be a year of transition. But with the right guidance, you can face these changes with confidence.
